Water leak?

I have a 1998 Pontiac TransSport that has a wet spot between gas petal and drivers seat, under the steering wheel. It has not rained here and the spot is growing. Could this be air conditioning leak from underneath or?
Thank you.

If the spot does not have an odor or feel slick, it is probably from your air conditioner.Check under the car after using the air conditioner for a while. You should usually have a wet spot (right side of car between the tire and firewall area). As the air cools, the moisture condenses and the water drips into the heater box. There is a hose, usually with a one way flapper valve, which goes from the box to the outside of the car. When the valve gets plugged, from dust, smoke residue, etc, it sticks shut and the condensate water overflows into the car.

Thank you.
This not up against the firewall, rather between the floor pad and drivers seat. I looked and there is only an aluminum like line going under this area with no exit or open areas and goes up under the firewall towards the engine area. Is it something an air conditioner specailist would have to fix?

A tech could easily fix it if it is a plugged drain. Before going to a shop, check on the engine side of the firewall, down low. You will have to peek under the car to see it. If you can find it, you could carefully probe up the tube with a piece of flexible wire and possibly open the line. Go easy because you do not want to damage the hose or valve.
If you are unsure, take it to a shop.
