Angry 1996 Ram 1500 Error Codes

Hi All,

Just bought a '96 Ram 1500 (318 CID, Auto) yesterday, and after putting about a hundred miles on it, the check engine light came on this afternoon. The error codes I've pulled are 21 (Problem with O2 Sensor Circuit. Sensor Voltage to Computer not Fluctuating), and 43 (Peak Primary Circuit Current not Achievedwith The Maximum Dwell Time.) I'm wondering, is there any possibility that these two codes are related, or am I going to have to spend the next couple of days hunting down and repairing multiple problems? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

suggest trying an o2 sensor then clearing the codes to see if the engine light returns, you should also double check the year model as a 96 should have 4 digit codes date of manufacture should be on door jamb sticker.

The code 43 is not related. a possiblility for that is a bad ground for the ingition coil or the coil is going bad. or your motor is not grounded good corrosion.
