Unhappy Tail light replacement

This is going to seem like a lightweight question after the serious ones I see here. But . . . I have a 2002 Nissan Altima. One of the brake lights burned out. I thought I could replace it like I always have on other cars, but the housing covering the lamps has Funny Fasteners. They look like plastic cones. I tried pulling them off with pliers and prying them off with a screwdriver to no avail. Can anyone tell me what kind of tool I need to remove these?

Thanks.

I read it and it just says "remove" and points to these two funny fasteners. I thought they would be nuts, based on the draing in the manual, but they are not.

Thanks.
