A/C doesn't work when idling
I have a f150 with the small v-8. AT 164K miles.
When the engine is idling or at low RPMs the AC will blow warm (uncooled, outside temp 90-100f) air. When I accelerate or wind out the engine the AC will blow cold air. It will then work normally at cruising speed until I stop again. It almost feels that the compressor needs a little push to get it started.
What are possible problems and/or solutions?
Thanks
Tom

Another thing is to check your fan, if it is not electric, your fan clutch could be weak. With the truck in your driveway, a/c on, run a garden hose gently over your condensor, if your a/c cools, that is prolly it.
