K & N high flow air filter for 94 Suburban?

In many of the reputable auto parts stores in my area there is an air filter displayed that claims to increase horse power and gas mileage possibly up to 15% or much more. Then every time the air filter gets dirty you need to spray it with this substance which will rejuvenate the filter for continual use.
This air filter sounds too good to be true yet these are reliable parts stores. I'm wondering if such an air filter would be helpful for my Suburban.
TIA, Frank C.

If the paper filter is a restriction, a K&N can increase HP
Not 15% btw, unless the paper is rrreeeaaallyy restrictive

Maybe on a modified engine, then it could release 15% more HP

Maybe 3-7 HP @ the rear wheels on a stock 200 hp engine (I've seen that much on a dyno)
When they get too dirty you must clean them, then re-apply the oil (a lttle dirt actually helps)
Over oiling can gunk up the mass air sensors
They will pretty much last a million miles like they say, you won't have to buy another air filter

I have used K&N filters on every vehicle I've had (that they make one for)
I've used them for years

If I had a Suburban, I would install one
