2001 Montana Repair Front Tie Rod

Anyone know if this is easy to fix by myself and if so what's the best way to go about this.

Is it the inner or the outer? After the replacement, you will need the toe set/front end alignment. If you are talking about the outer tie rod end, you WILL need an impact gun. If you try to remove the nut that secures the tie rod to the knuckle with a wrench or a ratchet, the stud will just spin in the knuckle. Our shop charges a half hour to replace one, and then like $40 for the alignment. The inner tie rod requires a special tool for it to be replaced, and costs a little more labor wise. At any rate, if you are mechanically inclined, you should know how to replace the outer tie rod once you take a look at it. If you do the repair yourself, make sure you do not over tighten the nut that secures the tie rod to the knuckle. The knuckle is aluminum and will crack/split if over tightened, and that would not be good.
