Gas smell in oil
My 1999 Monte Carlo has a very noisy engine. It sounds like one of the lifters won't prime. When checking the oil, I noticed that it looks very thin and has a gasoline smell. It also is over the full mark now. What might be causing the gas to mix with the oil?

Two possible conditions come to mind.
- The fuel pressure regulator has a leak and is drawing fuel via the vacuum line.
- You may have a leaky injector - one or more won't close properly, causing a massive leak that goes past the rings and ends up in the oil pan.
Get that oil changed pronto, before the bearings get ruined.
