'92 Camry A/C switch

The A/C button on my 92 Camry lights up when it is pushed in, and the air kicks on. However, as soon as you let go of the button the switch turns off and the a/c dies. Do I need a whole new switch or is the button somehow faulty (and repairable)? Thanks in advance!

I think you'll need to replace it. Recently had the same problem with the rear window defrost switch on my daughter's Ford Escort. I'm guessing the Camry ac switch is a similar design, a lot like the mechanism on a retractable ballpoint pen.

Thanks Tow Guy. I found a switch at a junkyard. $20, but still better than the $65-$75 that the local Toyota dealers quoted. Your ball-point pen comparison was right on. Thanks again.
