i havent seen it anywhere in my car either(also a 98 malibu). , was told u have to go to the dealor to get it checked????????????????? I read the manual and it says u dont have to change it for like a 100,000 miles, but ihad mine changed at 70k and hten at 90k....by the dealor

those transmissions use a 7/16" plug on the right side of the transmission to chek fluid level. With the veh running remove the plug and the fluid level should just trickle out. the fill cap is on top of the transmission below the
