I've been Keyed!

2004 Impala SS (of course its black)

Somebody keyed my dear SS. All the way from the drivers door to the tail light. Its a deep one too, it won't buff out.

To avoid getting ripped off by a bodyshop, am I going to have to paint the entire side of the car? Any experts out there with a ballpark figure?

Thanks

No insurance coverage for vandalism? The new paints are hard to get a good finish on if you do not have all the right equipment. I have been told that red, white and BLACK are the hardest colors to paint. You may want to reconsider doing this yourself unless you have the equipment and knowledge to do it. Good luck.

I wouldn't even think of doing paint on my own. Its definitely going to a body shop. I'm just trying to avoid being ripped off.

Your comprehensive part of your insurance policy should pay for it - minus deductible. I would get atleast a couple of estimates. Multiple estimates should give a good idea as to going rate - all the good, honest shops will have comparable prices.

I would guess around $500-$600 tops.
