Ford PU Power window

My 1999 Ford PU F150 power window on the drivers side is not working. I can hear a click when I want to open it, but thats all. I suspect a bad motor. I'm contemplating replacing it myself. Has anybody had this problem and replaced the motor yourself? What are the pros and cons in doing this? Appreciate your comments.

remove door panel, pull off plastic to gain access to motor, you will see 2 dimples in the panel, drill out with 3/8 drill bit, after you drill you will see the bolts that whole window motor . you can remove motor and all you need to do is replace the gear kit, it is simple to do and is a lot cheaper than buying the motor assy. if need more info email me.

are you sure it's the motor and not the power switch.
you can clean the contacts on the switch. i've seen very few
motors go mostly the switch.
