Valve guides and oil seals

1986 Chevy truck, 5.0L, mileage is 195,000. What is involved in changing the
valve guides and the oil seals on them.
Do I have to pull the heads or can it be done with them in place?
Either way can you guy's provide details on how to do this job?

Thanks,

Take the valve covers off and all the spark plugs out. You will need an air compressor and a fitting to supply air to the spark plug hole. Can do them in any order but only one at a time. Remove all the rocker arms and pushrods turn the air supply on to the first cyl, with air in the cyl the valves will stay shut, you can then back of the intake and exhaust rocker stud nuts and remove each spring. Replace the seals, put the springs back on, install the nuts and tighten back down.
Make sure yours even takes seals, some don't carry any seal because the clearence is so close.
