Can anybody explain how worn shocks affect how a tire wears?

Thatís easy, Have you ever seen on the hwy a tire bouncing up and down like a basketball being dribbled?

The tire may be out of balance but the shock is worn and cannot dampen the spring movement. This causes a scalloped wear pattern.

Also the weak shock will allow the suspension geometry to change too much causing tire wear.

thats right

Just like Toyotaman said the tire bounces and will wear in some spots and not others This is not a good thing because not only does it wear tires it tears up other components like bushings you need to fix it ASAP.
