2001 Santa Fe Fuse Problem?
I seem to be using this board often. My name is Angela, I have a 2001 Santa Fe that I purchased about a year ago. It runs great ; recently I replaced a #10 red fuse; which when fuse is blown I do not have dashboard lights, fog lights, and one of my tail lights are out. I have replaced this fuse 3 times in the past 3 weeks. Does Anyone know what could be causing this? Or any suggestions as to What the heak keeps making this little fuse blow? Any and all suggestions would help before I take it to a dealer. Thanks, Angela

2001 Santa Fe Fuse problem
If I have a short in one of the lights; is that expensive to repair? Is this something I can have a "backyard" mechanic do, or should i still go to a dealer? My warranty expired over 6 mos ago, so I dont have to worry about voiding anything there. Geez thats bad huh? And hey I will be on this board ALL DAY asking lots of questions. so thank you for all the answers.

well if it is a light you have to figure out which light it is. if it just a light it wont cost much to get a new light. how long does it take for the fuse to blow, does it blow when you step on the brake or does it blow when you turn your head lights on?

The first time it blew it may have been when i stepped on the brake, but the 3rd I replaced it; i started the truck, and my lights come on automatically, so it blew right then. I have not replaced the fuse since, and that was about 2 weeks ago.

fuse
yea this is something a backyard mechanic should be able to fix, question do you have a trailer tow hitch on this vechile ??? , I've seen lots of fuse/ lite problems caused from some one doing a shabby job of wiring up trailer wiring plug,,, also has any thing been added to the vechile lately like a new stereo system, dvd player tv, aux inside lites etc ??? that may have been tapped into this circuit ?? , Good luck . let us know what you find or not as the case might be .,,,,,,,,,,,,JIM
