Shift is so hard at low temp

97 Chevy Lumina 3.1L Car
Engine starts well. But shifting gear from Park to Rear and Drive is so hard in the morning, when temp is low (about 50 deg F). Once the engine is warm, shifting becomes normal. Does transmission oil become like gel as temp goes down? Thanks.

I have 2 Chevy Luminas, 97 and 98. I used the same transmission oil (Walmart brand). Only this car has the problem. My record says that the oil was replaced about 30,000 miles ago. I dropped the pan and replaced the filter/oil. Thanks.
