1997 Cavalier

Hey all. I'm having trouble with my 1997 Cavalier. It has about 130,000 miles. It has the standard 2.2L I4.

I dosen't stay started. When you turn the key, it won't turn over unless you have your foot on the gas. Once you do, it starts and runs, but stalls when you lift off. If you keep your foot on, it dosen't throw any CEL's.

Any suggestions?

It may just need a tune up if you haven't done that lately. Replace the sparkplugs, plug wires, and air filter and if applicable, the cap and rotor. Other possible culprits include the fuel filter or a vacuum leak among many other things.

.....................possible leak in air intake system after the air sensor. Allowing in more air than measured and not feeding enough fuel.
