Faint smell of antifreeze
2005 Pontiac Sunbird. When heater is turned on there is a faint smell of antifreeze in the interior of car. Could the heater core be leaking?

Yes, the heater core is probably leaking and needs to be changed. I don't know about the Sunbird, but on a lot of cars this is a big job. Before digging into it, check the connections leading into the heater core under the hood. Sometimes the connections develop a leak that dribbles into the heater core box - an easy fix.

It does sound like a connection to the heater core.I doubt the core is rotted out on a new car.It might have a small hole in it also.However if I were you I would go right back to dealer and dont mess with it since it is a warranty item.
