Ignition Switch replacement

My son lost the key to his 86 Bronco 2. A locksmith could not make a key & he said drill out the old one & replace it. We poped the switch cover off & drilled out what seems to be the pins that the key fit around but it will not come out any ideas?

You are going to have to disassemble the the column down to the point where you can remove the lock cylinder. There should be a book available on line or at the library on how this particular unit comes apart.
