What air compressor specs for home use?

My woman wants to get me an air compressor, so I need to get some input from you guys. Just something on the small side. I don't want one that has to cycle "all" the time and it has to have at least 125psi. I'll be running a 1/2" for pulling tires and a 3/8 ratchet all the time. What is a good tank size and what h.p. rating should I be looking for? Something +/- $300. Thanks for the info

You need to be looking at CFM rating.... some air tools are "thriftier" than others when it comes to air consumption. There is nothing quite as frustrating as waiting for the compressor to catch up.

FWIW, the "oil-less" compressors are extremely noisey compared to their oil bath (more expensive) cousins.

So in other words it all depends on the air tools. I also haven't gotten them yet.
