brake problem

My daugter just got back from a long trip with her buick, it is an older vehicle she went through a big rain storm, and then parked it overnight. When she came out the next morning, she went to pull out of the driveway, and when she stepped on the brakes she said a loud squeel came from the brakes and the car jumps up and down. Just trying to find out the direction to start looking for the problems. I have never heard of a car jumping like that.

You're going to have to expound on what you mean when you say it "jumps up and down." Could the front of the car just have "nose dived" and then bounced back up when she let off the brake pedal? About how fast was she going when this happened. Has it happpend consistently since then or was it just the one time?

I think this sounds like moisture on the brake pads/rotors. Drive carefully a block or so slightly riding the brakes. This should 'cook off' any moisture from the brake surfaces.
