Question steering jeers off or wanders sharply

my 98 windstar has always driven nicely and has just recently had the front end aligned. all of a sudden we were on a rather long trip and when we were at speeds at about 60 or better the van took off to the right or the left.mostly to the right. into the next lane of traffic. it driffed no wind at all. i added a little bit of trans-x to my steering fluid about 2 weeks ago.could that be the cause of this sudden change in steering problem. my steering is not leaking i just added maybe half a pint. it says on the trans-x can you can add it for trans.power steerings etc.stops leaks. i may have screwed up. i added some to my sons cars transmission it did help it so far. could this additive make the steering thin out enough to make the steering wander?this is all of a sudden

Recently alingned??? I suspect front end suspension troubles maybe from bad alignment. Check out tie rods, control arms. Don't go adding anything to cars fluids that were not recommended by the maker of car.
Sounds like your driving a accident waiting to happen.

steering floats

that was stupid. i soaked all of that fluid that i could out of the steering reservoir that i could and put new in and it really helped the problem with the steering .ill do it again and that should about take care of it when it has a chance to circulate a little more. thanks for the advice. .i know better.over preventive maintenance.
