need help with buick century 1992

we have a 1992 buick century custom v6 3300 fuel injected car that keeps dying.
after driving for 20 minutes or so, it will die while in gear, driving down the road. when trying to restart it, it will pop like it wants to start but it will continuousely keep turning until the battery dies. then it takes 3-5 hours and it will start right back up again as if nothing was wrong.
we have replaced the egr sensor and alternator and the temerature senor...
PLEASE GIVE ADVISE TO WHAT IT COULD BE....WE NEED HELP!!!!

THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS

STEVE

After looking at this car via my internet eyes, I have concluded that it is either
1. One of the 3 coil packs
2. Ignition module

I have the same motor and when it acted like this (2 times so far) it was these items.

I have a 92 olds with the same engine. Had the same problem and it was the crankshaft position sensor.

Oh, yes, I forgot about that one, on mine it just wouldnt start. It seems that when it comes to temp, that is when you have your problem. CPS is easy to change.
