possible brake problem
I have a 2000 Escalade with disk brakes on the front and drums on the back. 105,000 miles on it. When I come to a stop, it kind of has a clunking sound and feel. Some times it does it when I release the brake also. I have disconected the ABS and it still does it. I have bled the brake system but it still does it. I am not sure what else to do or try. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps a caliper mount bolt has worked loose. It's happened to me more than once. Regardless, a good inspection of each car corner with the wheels off should reveal the problem.

It may also be the slip yoke. This is on the rear drive shaft where it goes into the transfer case. On the pick ups, we have either repalced them or filed and greased the splines. On the newer trucks, GM has a revised slip yoke to eliminate this problem.
