Want to drive it

What should be done to prepare an auto that has been sitting outside in the winter weather, has not been driven, only started up a few times. I will be storing it in a garage, but will have to drive it abt 120 expressway miles. This is a '97 Dodge Avenger with minimal miles.

things to do

First you need to get rid of old gas and get fresh.Do a oil change check tires and pressures.do a good inspection under the hood for fluids and levals.Make sure brakes work well they might have got rusty. Also check hoses and belts under the hood.make sure anti frezze is ok.Good thing it was started a few times.
Drive around the block a few times first to make sure it shifts ok.

next time you store it, change the oil, use fuel stabilizer in the gas, and keep the tires aired up, when going to start it, check all the fluids! don't want to start it up, to find out 3 minutes later, the drain plug on the oil pan maybe leaked all the oil out, and you lock the engine up. also a battery tender would be a good choice to keep the battery fresh.
