fuel filter replacement '93 f-150

I'm trying to replace a fuel filter on my '93 f-150 (5L). I've followed the proceedure for relieving the fuel pressure found in a repair manuel I have. I was trying to seperate the fuel line from the existing filter & having a hard time. It appears to be a simple "push connect" fitting but I pulled on the line and filter with quite a bit of force with no result. If anyone has done this and can help I'd really appreciate it. Maybe I just need to pull harder but I was afraid to damage something. - thanks.

Fuel filter

Just finished my post asking for help when I notice yours, I'm not any type of expert in this field but I did have an 93 F350 and I replaced the fuel filter. I had to go to my local auto parts store and they sold a special wrench to do this job which made it much easier than the way I was trying to go about it. Hope this helps some..

yes, there are special tools made for this job. You have to release the inner locks before you can pull the lines off the filter.
