92 dynasty fuel pump

Question 92 dynasty fuel pump

hey my sister inlaw has a dynasty and i think it is her fuel pump that is bad how do i know and how would i change it any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks Matt

Most definitive way is with a pressure gauge; however you can listen to seee if it is running. Remove filler cap and listen closely while an assistant turns the key to the "on" (not "start"; do not crank the engine) position. Listen to see if you can hear the pump hum for a few seconds and then stop. If you hear it, it is at least running. If you hear nothing, either pump is bad, or their is a problem with power getting to it - bad relay, broken wire, etc. Only way to know for sure if it is putting out sufficient pressure is with a gauge.
