97 chevy viberation
97 chevy silverado w/350 automatic
the truck runs great but when it tachs up to 4000 rpms it has a light viberation, it does it at all speeds. could it be the harmonic balancer?

try to isolate the condition. vibrate while not moviing ? if you're not moving it's only the engine/trans area. could be balancer, flexplate, converter. if only when moving check driveshaft, front rotors, rear axles, tires and rims.

it does it moving or not starts at 4k rpm at any speed so that would rule out driveshaft, wheels, rotors, it runs extremely smooth under 4k rpm, i was just seeing if anyone had experienced this before i started changing parts

balancers do go bad but not often, the rubber ring allows the outer diameter to shift. the flex plate is also balanced with a small weight welded to the face that could for some strange reason have come off. my guess is the balancer. when you install a new balancer do not hammer it on. period. i know someone will tell you that's ok but it's not. beg, borrow or steal a balancer installer. torque converter ? never had one get out of balance but maybe a trans specialist could chime in here. good luck
