HELP Help!!! Clutch/Start Switch

I have a 2001 GMC Sonoma 4 cyl 5 spd 39k miles. I have determined that the Clutch/Start switch has gone bad. I went to start my truck yesterday and it started to turn over then everything went black. I kicked the clutch pedal a couple of times and the power all came on, but everytime I depress the pedal to start the car I get a continual clicking under the dash then everything goes black. I need the truck for work!!! Is there anyway to by pass the switch. All my local shops tell me that they can get the part in 3 to 5 days from their warehouses. But no truck = no work = no pay.

I need help fast.

Thanks,

Doug

( if it's not a relay problem) look at the clutch pedal and locate a plunger type or micro switch. should be around the same place on the clutch pedal as the brake switch is on the brake pedal. two wires from the switch ? easy. try with the wires disconnected from the switch first. if that doesn't work try connecting the two wires together with a jumper. you are testing the circuit in an open and closed state. not sure which way the switch wants to be to allow starting. good luck

a note on the side, is your battery in good shape ? , these symptoms `could be coming from a low battery also.
