'04 Cavilier dashboard lights don't always work

I have a 2004 Chevy Cavilier. I don't drive much at night so I was a little surprised when I needed my dashboard lights and they didn't work. This car isn't even 2 yrs. old. The DRL and the regular headlights (hi beam/low beam) work. As a matter of fact, all the other lights in the car work without incident except the dashboard lights. All fuses check out so what else should I be looking for? My dashboard has guages - they aren't digital. Thanks for any help.

did you check the relay on the dash to make sure is not all the way down ?
it should be located next to the actual light switch to the left of the steering wheel and it used to dim the instrument panel light to desired brightness.

yes, I turned the dimmer switch for the dashboard lights up and down several times but nothing happened.
And I also couldn't find any other relay either. I did check the fuse again and it is good. Anything else??? Thanks for the help.

unless it has another fuse box under the hood ( my chevy 05 truck does )....
also is it still under warranty ? you should have 3 years/36k miles from the factory.
