Unhappy I took off my A.C. belt

I took my A.C. belt off my 760 Turbo Volvo. Can I keep it off if my A.C. doesn't work? I just can't seem to keep a charge on my battery. I have my Alternator. Please help.

what year is your Volvo,? generally, if the belt isnt running anything else, i`d say you can keep it off, but it would seem something else must be running on it.

As long as the a/c belt did not also dirve the alternator or any thing else you can leave the belt off. If you can not keep a charge on the battery , a quick output test on the alternator should give you the answer. The alternator should be putting out about 14.5 volts . Usually a place like Battery Wharehouse or PeP Boys will check it for free (ask first) .
