cylinder 1 misfire

My service engine light was coming on periodically and then would shut off after a few minutes of driving, this became worse as winter came and now is on all the time, I also noticed that my idle became higher and my car ran much rougher. I bought one of those OBD II code readers on sale for $99 and plugged it in. Cylinder 1 misfires and engine idles too high. I tried changing the spark plug and the spark plug wire and that didn't help at all. My car is a 2002 Saturn SC1, with no distributor, it has a coil pack. I have no idea what else to try! Any help?

intake gasket

take a look at your intake gasket around the #1 port. it is right beside the power steering pump. it has probably got a wrinkle in it. this is a common problem with the newer (2000 +) s series with the sohc engine. just replace the intake gasket. i do at least one of these a week.
