89 Pontiac Electrical Issues

My wife and daughter bought a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix this past weekend and it seems to have an electrical problem that I cannot place. I have changed the battery and the alternator and it still will not hold a charge. The car will start when you jump start it, but when it idles or if you try to drive it, the electronics in the car will start flickering, flashing, and the car will die. I have tried to locate the issue, but am not able to. One thing that I did notice was that the persone who had the car before, clipped the wires that lead to the cooling fan and had spliced in speaker wire that is not connected from. I am not sure where the wires are supposed to be connected so I am not sure if this is related or not.

So I guess I have two questions....

1. Can anyone tell me where the power and the ground wires terminate on the cooling fan?

2. Any suggestions on the overall electrical issue?

Thanks.....

Fan power wires go to fan relay or relays on iner fender well. Groun wire can be on body.
