Transmission problems
I need to know what can cause the transmission to not go into reverse and how to fix it? It is on a 1987 Cutlass Supreme Oldsmobile, automatic transmission, the transmission is a Hydromatic with a 3.8 engine. How can I repair it? I do have another transmission that I might be able to put in the car the only difference is that the original transmission has wiring and the other one I have looks the same but does not have the wiring can this still work in the car. Need help as soon as possible.

May not be the same kind of tranny,most likely you will need a transmission overhaul, not a quick fix.
