Unhappy Renault starter

I have a '87 Renault Alliance, 1.4 L, auto tranny. I've replaced the starter about 10 times. I can start it and drive it fine at first, then after I drive it a few times, when I turn the key I have to try repeatedly and sometimes it starts. Other times there is nothing but a click. It doesn't even try to turn over or anything. Eventually, after driving it a few more times, it just doesn't start at all. If I replace the starter, it's fine again. But then the same thing happens and I have to replace the starter again. Does anyone know what would be causing this?

Where are you getting starters from. (the same place) I think you need to try heavy duty starter and check engine grounds.Allso I have added a new ground lots of times. (This is juist my opinion.)
