I am pretty sure that hondas have interference engines.

Replace the timing belt every 90,000 miles. Hondas use interference engines, so if the T belt breaks while under load you have an expensive engine repair coming.

Yes most Hondas will self desruct engines if timing belt breaks.Dont mess around and replace it when it is due.

Change the water pump while you're in there, it's timing belt driven.

Was at one of our favorite shops the other day. They had a customer with a Chrysler-type valve-bender that needed a water pump. The garage couldn't get them in until following week and they advised them to have it towed when the were ready to bring it in. They found a different shop (franchise tire & muffler place) who said they could get them in that was close enough for them (or so they thought) to just drive it to. On the way the pump failed completely, took out the timing belt, and SURPRISE!, bent the valves. So the car ended up at the original garage anyway because the franchise guys don't do engine repairs and, of course, they got to pay a tow bill, too (Thank you very much). Plus their repair bill went up by a factor of about 10.
