Arrow how do i change ignition cylinder lock/without a key

i lost my keys and have no spare.1991 ford explorer 2wd automatic.how can i change the ignition.i have seen the post where you can turn it to the on position.but i have no key so is thier anyway to do it with out the key .or someway to by pass the ignition atleast to get it home..

If your car has an airbag, you might want to consider just calling the locksmith first. I watched this being done on a car I had without an airbag and I'd be comfortable doing that job myself. As slick said, there's a lot of difference between cars.

You should be able to go to a Ford dealer with your VIN number and proof of ownership and have them make you a new key. Then take the new key to a locksmith and have a few extras cut.
