What is the difference between a regular gasoline engine and a flex fuel engine that runs on E85? Is it possible or practical to modify a gasoline engine to run on E85?

From what I know.

I have a E85 ford Taurus the diffrance is the fuel system and the computer.
The fuel system uses stainless lines and the fuel tank is also stainless. Also the computer is diffrent to compensate for the fuel.
If you put E85 in a normal car it will corrode the fuel lines and tank in a little while.
I have yet to use any E85 here in Texas but I am ready at least one of my cars is.
