96 Dodge Van is shuddering
My sisters' 1996 Dodge Van is shuddering when she attempts to go up a hill. She is on the other side of the nation and needs some brotherly advice. She doesn't know what engine is in it, but it does have an automatic transmission. Is there a common problem with these vehicles? Has someone else had the problem and knows what the cure is?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!!

best to take it to a shop and have it diagnosed a shudder could be caused by a transmision problem.
she may be experiencing a miss when the engine is under a load it is not uncommon for a bad plug or wire to only miss occasionaly such as going up a hill or other load conditions.

Probably has the 2.2 or 2.5 litre 4 banger in there trying to pull 4000 pounds up the mountain....and the timing is gravely retarded, and needs a tune up, and the timing belt jumped a tooth, and one of the brakes is locking up, and the transmission doesn't downshift out of third gear, and....
We need more information please.
