99 dodge grand caravan

My caravan is losing antifreeze....it doesn't seem like it is overheating and the temp gauge is reading normal...but after driving the van I notice the antifreez overflowing...this morning my wife was driving to work and the defrostor or heat would not get warm....how do I troubleshoot?...last year I replaced the thormostat....Thanks

Could have two separate problems. I would try a new radiator cap for starters if you are getting a lot of overflow into the recovery tank. For the lack of heat/defrost you could have a malfunction in the controls or you could have air in the system, either introduced when you did the thermostat [although I think that would have come up sooner than now] or due to low coolant level from the excess overflow. And, just so i can say I mentioned it, you're sure the thermostat is installed in the proper direction? [real long shot; you surely would have noticed a problem before this].
