Cool Can you bend nylon fuel line permanently?

I had to cut my fuel line to replace filter and bought a [B]Dorman Quick-connect Nylon Extension Kit and the line will crease if I use it as is because of the bend I need to make replacing a 45 or 60 degree elbow.
Does anyone know if I can insert heavy wire into the tubing while I heat it in water and then cool it to reshape it? I saw one report of someone heating it with a blow dryer to bend it but I need to make a substantial arc.
Trying to prevent the need to remove gas tank and replace entire line with expensive factory line.

Im not sure about the nylon, but you could try using generic metal fuel line you can buy at murrays or autozone ($2-5), put a line nut on your existing line, flare it, and use a union fitting to attach the 2 together. line and fittings will cost you around five to ten bucks.

I agree with zzz why mess with nylon when you can use metal lines , don't take any chances with your fuel system.

thanks for the input guys

thanks for taking the time to give input on my dilemma, to both of you. I fixed the problem by trading the car in on a new kia spectra and am so happy with it.

Yes, You can Bend Nylon Fuel line permanently

It is easy to bend Nylon tube permanently and can be used safely.
You can use following method;

- Insert a spring inside the Nylon Tube.
- Take a soft metal pipe or rod (copper or aluminum can be used) and bend it to
the shape you want.
- Now, tie up your Nylon Fuel Pipe to this metal fixer.
- Give hot boiling water bath to this whole assembly.
- Remove it after 5-10 min and quench immediately in water preferably cold.
- Done.
