Jeep hydralic clutch.
Sirs: I have an older Jeep pick-um-up and the hydralic clutch is losing fluid--big time. However, there is no visible leaks under the hood or on the pavement where truck is parked. I guess it must be leaking internally to the bell housing/pressure plate.
Accept all opinions and suggestions to fix the darn thing. Do I drop the transmission?
Thnax/I am not an auto mechanic, but appreciate your input.

my 2 cents
The system is very simple you have a master clutch cyl on the fire wall and a slave close to the bell housing and lines that connect the two.
The question is were is the slave? Look and see if it is outside or inside.
It is best to replace both at same time because the rubber in one is the same as the other as far as condition.
Also the parts are fairly cheap.
Look also were the rod goes thru to the petal it might be leaking there.Try to lift any dust boots and look for fluid.

thats right
Yes it might be leaking onto the carpet is you have some in a jeep.
The best way to find it then is a sniff check run your hand over the carpet and take a whiff to see if you smell brake fluid.

Thanx and a hat tip!
You guys were right on. The master clinder was leaking at the push rod thru the firewall. Don't know how I missed it unless it was because I was looking with both eyes closed.
Thanx---Is this a great web site or not!!!!
