go backwards ,wont go for forward

1973 Chev Impala. . . parked for a long time when I put in drive
it wont move,but put into reverse no problem. Where is the drain plug ?

Drain plug?? like in a trans drain plug? Most cars do not have them from the factory. You just pull the trans pan and spill the fluid all over yourself just like the rest of us

Some two speed powerglides from that era had a plug in the trans pan. Its in the center of the pan if equipt. As far as your problem, one thing it could be is the reverse clutchs stuck together if it sounds like its in a bind (sounds like its in drive and rev at the same time). Other could be loose or stuck drive band or shot drive clutchs.
