89 cavalier rad fan

89 cavalier rad fan

I have an 89 cavalier& the rad fan will not come on . I jumped out the sensors & still wont come on .Also checked for voltage to fan no voltage, Im stumped! Any suggestions? Thank u!

did you check the fuse that controls the radiator fan.

Yes we checked the fuse under the dash&it was good.

They come on from water temperature, obviously. So, wherever the unit is that senses the temp and has electrical wires could be a place to start, to see if there is juice there.

Beyond that, due to wiring harness and wires that fork off this way and that, and hard to see areas, often times, I think yoU may need a wiring diagram to help yoU learn that circuit.

Where would I obtain a wiring diagrahm?

chilton,,, has been my friend with every car i have owned. im told that there are better manuals around but i have had great luck with both ive bought for my cars, also i used to own a pontiac sunfire (basicaly the same car) and found it very helpfull.

check your local libary to see if they have a sevice manual for you car if you are not allowed to check it out than photo copy the pages that you need.
