A.C. problem

I've got a 1998 Jeep Cherokee and after running the air conditioning for about 10 minutes (cold, dry air), the air begins to get humid and warm. If I turn off the AC and let things be for about 45 minutes I can turn the AC back on and repeat this cycle. Any thoughts?

suggest seeing a shop to find out what is going on, 10 minutes would be really fast for the eveaporator to freeze up I would think but still a possible expansion valve problem or the a/c compressor is disengaging for some reason could be pressure switch or bad a/c clutch or other other possible causes.

I encountered the same problem before and the defect was due to the AC compressor. In some cases the A/C Condenser can as well be blamed. Better check out those components to solve the problem.
