Chrysler intermintting start

1998 3.3 voyager. Once in a while the van will start and imeditatley stall like it is out of fuel, when this happens I have no odometer or gear shift lights. It will start and run for about 2 seconds and then shut down. after a few attempts the starter won't even engage. If I wait twenty minutes it starts and runs fine. It keeps on starting for another week or so with no problems. I can't get any codes from the pcm. I have no engine check light on. I am about to change the camshaft sensor> is this a possible problem? I have already changed the ingintion switch.

First, make sure battery and all conections/cables are good.
Check hard to find conections and grounds too. Follow all the big wires to/from batt and starter.

I don't think the cam sensor has anything to do with dash lights or running the starter.

I like you would have tried the ignition switch or hunted for some main relay or bad neutral safety switch or brake/shift interlock but it might be even more simple.
