2000 Dodge Neon A/C problem

Always post:

1) 2000 Dodge Neon, SE, Automatic, 2.0 liter, 4 door

2) A/C is blowing warm/hot air when the A/C is turned on

3) I did not know if the A/C system had a leak. So I tried to fcharge the system with 134a. I did this with the car running and the A/C turned on max cool. I attached to the low side, the fitting only fits that side, and it would not suck in any refigerant. So I suspect low refigerant is not the issue.

I can hear the compressor engaged and disengage when the A/C is turned on and off.

Could a defective High-Pressure cut-out switch give these symptoms? If so, how do I test for that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

suggest seeing a shop you really need a set of guages and to be able to read the high and low side pressures to help determine what may be wrong if the compressor stays engaged it isnt likely to be a high pressure cut out switch if it cycles on and off it may be low on freon or be cycling because the high side pressure is to high does the cooling fan work?
