REAR Engine Seal Leak and AC

2 questions:
1) I was told by Nissan in 2004 that I have a rear engine seal leak in my 1997 V6 Maxima. They told me is was a very small leak and I really didn't need to have it repaired at that time. Now it is 2005 and I have never had to add oil between oil changes. I have a few drops on the carport over time but that is all.
How long will I be this lucky? What would make it worse than what it is? I don't want to spen the money to repair it if I really don't need to.

2) I have never had my AC serviced but it works fine. How necessary is it to service an AC?

Thanks
Nelly

if the a/c still cools the car down good then it doesnt need an a/c service typically you only get one when you have a problem.
