Stripped lug nut

Anyone know any good way to get a stripped lug nut off. I don't know if heat would damage the aluminum wheel. Thank you

well, you can try vice grips, however that might not work, depending on how tight it is on wrong. You can cut a grove in it and "walk" it around with a air chisel prefferably, but it can be done with a regluar hammer and chisel. You can also use a little device called a nut splitter that goes around the nut and forces two points into the nut til it splits. Its $9 bucks at my local auto store. or you can always try one of those easy out things.

good luck

Sometimes you can use the tire for levarage. Remove all the other lug nuts and try to pull the wheel off while turning the nut. Hopefully this will put enough tension on the stripped nut to allow it to loosen.
