Overspray removal

Just bought a used car that has either overspray or sap (? the windows are "rough" too). How can I get the surface of the paint/window smooth again? Clay bar? I've tried washing the car and bug/tar remover. Thoughts?

Sometimes buffing the car with wax or rubbing compound will remove overspray. Maybe scrubbing with mineral spirits. I would work on the windows first and try to find the least abrasive way to clean them - you are less likely to harm the glass than the paint.

Depends on the year/model/condition etc...
Has it a clearcoat?

I use the clay bar for overspray, and it can be used on clear- or non- clear- coats
Whether or not you can get more aggressive will depend on the answers to those questions, and your judgment/skills

Definitiely start with a clay bar; one of the best inventions since sliced bread.

[What did people use for that comparison before there WAS sliced breead? ]

Thanks. I just bought a clay bar. Will it work on glass? Or should I use something like mineral spirits or Goof-Off?

Laquor thinner will remove the overspray too.My father used that to remove paint off a 2001 Implala that had white house paint spacles on it.Luckily my neighbor works at an auto body repair place that knew how to remove the house paint off.
