98 Mitsubishi Eclipse Driver side door handle

My friend has a 98 Mitsubishi Eclipse which has a driver side door handle that doesn't engage all the time. Whenever it's hot or humid she cannot open her door from the outside. It feels as if there's no ,I'd say, tension and it will not engage when the handle is lifted. She has no problems when it's cool out though.

Is there a fix or should the handle be replaced? If there is a fix how should I go about it.

Your going to have to take the inside door panel off and look and feel around for really loose stuff involved with the door handle. Also lubricate it with lithium grease or what ever grease you have laying around.

Poke around in there and see if you can get the problem to reoccur by pulling lightly on the rods and trying to open the door.
